The Canadian Coalition for Green Schools is looking for the "greenest school in Canada"

Ottawa, ON - April 22, 2014 - The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and the Canadian Coalition for Green Schools are commemorating Earth Day with the launch of a new competition for Canadian schools.

A green school is one that minimizes environmental impact, optimizes human health and performance, and fosters a generation of environmentally literate students. Schools offering grades between K-12 are eligible to participate in the Greenest School in Canada competition, and will be judged on the following criteria:

- Efficient use of resources and reduced environmental impact.
- Enhanced health and learning among students, teachers and staff.
- Emphasis on sustainability and resource-conservation education.
